Spend two weeks in Chicago at »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ learning the fundamental principles of the Orff Approach. This child-centered way of learning music will encourage your students to enjoy music-making while enhancing their awareness of space, time, form, line, color, design and mood. Both individually and in groups, children must learn important concepts by doing hands-on activities that allow them to explore and create. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Evening activities will include concerts and events in Chicago. These courses are offered for 4 graduate credits for $1,555.
Highlights from 2024
Housing
On-campus housing will be available. A standard double room includes two twin beds, desks, chairs, built-in closets, shared bathroom, kitchen and spacious lounges throughout the hall. Linen packages are available free of charge. Linen packages include a blanket, pillow, two sheets, pillowcase and towels. Single-occupancy also available.

Just minutes from downtown Chicago’s world-renowned music culture, »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ is located on the northwest corner of the campus of the highly ranked. VanderCook students have full access to the entire IIT campus but still benefit from the small college atmosphere.
